FAQ
Q: Why don’t you sell books by titles?
Our publishers agree to sell us books by the lot in exchange for lower prices. A lot is a quantity of 100 books and we keep as many as 400 titles in our warehouse at any one time and the titles rotate with each shipment. This means we are able to sell brand new books at a lower cost, far lower than the $8 to $15 per book that can be found elsewhere. We are happy to sell smaller lots upon request.
Q: How do we know we are getting books that are appropriate for correctional facilities?
The staff of Correctional Programs, LLC has been working in state and Federal prisons for over 25 years. What better way to insure that you are getting the right books for your institution than to know the people choosing the titles, reviewing each shipment and sending them to you? We screen every book to insure there are no violations from policy, pornographic content, or pornographic photos within the books. We also know there are many book categories (travel, cooking etc.) are not what we carry.
Q: About your reentry program, Targeting Success, why is your company so positive about this program? How much time can this program save staff?
For years staff has been doing all the work trying to get inmates ready for transition back into society. We have organized lectures on resume writing, job interview skills, budgeting, how to do an introduction letter, how to look for work and where to go when released. With Targeting Success the inmate does all the work. Staff no longer will have to escort volunteers and contract employees into institutions to perform the basic needs for inmates. We are not advocating that inmates should not have contact with anyone prior to release, but the contact should be when inmates are ready to discuss employment at job fairs, meetings with Half Way House Directors and communications like that. Targeting Success when down loaded into independent computers, will give formatted resumes, introduction letters, financial plans that will tell an inmate how much he or she needs to make per hour to be successful in society and reduce the chances of reoffending. When an inmate completes a 30 hour program, they will walk away with a complete portfolio. Many Education Supervisors are having their inmates complete the Targeting Success program after an inmate completes their first education program no matter what the program. The reasoning for this is to give the inmate incentive to complete more programs and they can simply return to Targeting Success and update their resume.
Q: Why are your music prices so much lower than what is being sold elsewhere?
Correctional Programs, LLC has a long relationship with a music distributor that buys from American and overseas sources. Because of these relationships, we are able to keep the prices at a lower rate and in return pass the savings on to you. On many of the large ticket items our price is in most cases are much lower than you will find on the retail market. We are proud of the quality of these musical items and have never received a complaint about the quality of any musical instruments sold.
